December 5, 2001 Almost 30 inches of snow in the last 24 hours?!? Is that possible. Well, of course it's possible. But how about almost 30 inches of snow every 24 hours continuously for a week?!? That is what is happening all over the Pacific Northwest right now. If these past couple of weeks have been any indication of what the rest of our winter is going to be like, then I'm not going to get very much work done for the next 5 months. Here's a good example: Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon is reporting a nearly 90" base this week, only 2 weeks after finally opening. Keep in mind that the resorts in Oregon just barely had 100" of snow total last year as a base. Better start waxing your sticks.
November 29, 2001 It's beginning to look a lot like winter. A large winter storm rolls through the Pacific Northwest dumping plenty of snow in the mountains. Many resorts have reported a foot of snow in 24 hr periods adding a needed layer of powder to the slopes. This late November dump has also allowed the remaining resorts in the northwest to open creating the official start to the 2001-2002 ski season. Check the latest snow fall maps on our weather page with more information to come.

November 25, 2001 The snow is beginning to fall!! Resorts all over the Pacific Northwest are beginning to show signs of life as the terrain turns white again. Some resorts have already opened while others are predicting opening days within the next couple of weeks. Check out our weather page for updates.

November 15, 2001 Many are expecting a rough winter this year for the Pacific Northwest. While this is bad news for the majority of Northwesterners, the news couldn't be better for skiers and snowboarders. However, the snow hasn't found its way into the mountains as of yet.

November 12, 2001 The Message Board feature of the web site goes on-line, waiting for entries from our readers.

November 7, 2001 SnowNorthwest goes on-line with a portion of the web site. More pages are being added as the 2001-2002 ski and snowboard season begins to take shape.
